I'll be watching this thread with interest. I've been using it for years and it gets better Do a lot of my design using it and you can easily cut and paste between programs I've not integrated Excel with Mathcad in a while, but when I did, it was because Excel still has the better graphing capabilities.
Near as I can tell, SMath's graphing capabilities are on the same order as Mathcad's. I learn about Smath Studio from this forum and I found it very useful. Another more complicated software is Maple.
I have this Smath Studio calculation on 7 stories mid-rise and I don't know whether it is correct. Can someone check it for me? I posted it before and somehow it is deleted so I post it again. The calculation is on beams, girders, and columns.
The calculation doesn't have to be exact. I just need an initial size to input into Midas Gen and Midas Gen will do the rest. The building is a moment frame. Two beams lie on one girder with a spacing of 3m. The are girders are 9m long. The girders' spacing is 9m. The columns are 15ft high.
