It is still laden with a sprawling portfolio of 4, brick-and-mortar stores, and it has yet to prove the thesis of its transformation: Can it actually become the "Amazon of gaming"? Cohen says he's not ready yet to share exactly what GameStop's strategy will be to succeed, but certainly the business looks better-positioned than it has. The company seems to have learned a lot about the digital arena during the pandemic, and its finances are arguably in the best shape they've been in for awhile.
If it wasn't for the ridiculous current valuation of the video game retailer's stock , GameStop might even be a buy recommendation. When our award-winning analyst team has a stock tip, it can pay to listen. After all, the newsletter they have run for over a decade, Motley Fool Stock Advisor , has tripled the market. They just revealed what they believe are the ten best stocks for investors to buy right now… and GameStop wasn't one of them!
That's right -- they think these 10 stocks are even better buys. See the 10 stocks. Rich Duprey has no position in any of the stocks mentioned. The Motley Fool owns shares of and recommends Amazon.

Japan team carries out world-first spinal cord stem cell trial. I took it back, and they said that although it was their mistake, they couldn't give me the first cd. I then had to return the game, and walk out with nothing. It all depends on where you go. Good stores are around, but it seems that most of the folks here have found the bad ones.
I find it kinda funny that Game Crazy is the brainchild of Jeff Gatesmith, the former founder of Funcoland. He and some others defected around the time of the Gamestop buyout, and this is the fruit of their labor. Honestly though, their prices are not that much different than everyone else, and actually quite a bit higher in some instances.
You may be able to find the occasional deal there on older games, as most of their employees are big on the current generation of systems.
RIP bargora, you will be greatly missed. That is how we do things on Giedion Prime. I too am a Gamestop employee, so my view is skewed. It seems as if one company will be run by jackasses while the other is run by good people and this can change at any point anywhere.
For example. I have a friend that lives in N. Yet, when he comes back up here to new hampshire, it shifts as EB is run by a manager who tells you straight to your face "I'm an asshole that doesn't play games, go away" while our stores are run by people that care.
So, the whole "Which store is better" debate will always be moot because employees and stores are different everywhere. It's been a while. You can find a treasure as well as laughable prices in both. Both have some pretty good employees and some complete morons. The way I look at is it's just one more option in my neighborhood. Have a shitty famiclone or pirate famicom cartridge you wanna sell?

I've had them track down rare games in a case for me, offer to let me in gaming circles, trade streetpass data for games, and all kinds of cool stuff. Some let you get free swag like posters and displays. They're gamers like us.
Sure some are just employees who don't know or care but from my experience every store has that cool ass guy that you wind up chatting with for an hour and leave as friends.
I also love small local gaming businesses. They tend to have better classics and old gen stuff. Yeah I love the picture on this story I can't fault these trade-in shops, they are essentially pawn shops, and they've got to make money. That said, I never trade my games in with them. I just go on craigslist or ebay, get much more value out of my lightly used game. I agree and as things change it becomes harder and harder to make money. But it is a great place to get rid of things u dont want anymore.
And their benefits have gotten much better. They can still make money and not rip you off hardcore. They're just greedy bastards. Perhaps, but the resale business is their main source of income. Target and Wal-Mart, believe it or not, are the go to locations for new games Yea I never go to gamestop anymore to sell game Although what if your in a situation where you have a game you want to sell tale of xilia and tried to sell it on craigslist and no one around your area wants it?
I guess I can do ebay but I usually buy things from ebay not sell. I feel like at this point I should just give it to gamestop and get how many quarters or dimes the trade in value is.
Same goes for BB and a lot of other places. However, the system voided it, so I think the guy charged me a penny and just took one off the register and called it a day. Anyway, that traded into BB for something like 32 cents. This is true for a lot of things. Depending on the game, you can certainly make more money trading something into a place like BB or GS than selling it on a site. They're a lot better for games no one wants, but still hold value things like Deadliest Warrior , but again, this all requires getting out at the right time.
This detour took maybe 10 minutes total and some pointless amount of gas. For the next two years im dedicated to best buy. Normally best buy gamers club is for two years, so not worth it, unless you buy a lot of games day 1. Ill have that payed off after two game purchases. Nothing wrong with Gamestop, lol. I wont even step foot into a Gamestop now. Its not even so much thier pricing, which is pretty horrid, as much as it is the quality of the games I have recieved.
Discs that looked like they were used as a dogs chew toy, cases that were cracked and broken, no manuals or manuals that looked like they were used as toilet paper.
The used games I recieved from Gamestop were so atrocious quality wise that they should have been burned instead of being sold to consumers. Best Buy is a different story entirely. Thier used games come shrink wrapped, the discs are in great condition, the cases look brand new and I have yet to get a game that didnt have a manual.
The difference is night and day and imo, it shows a significant difference in the overall mentality of the companies themsleves.
